Our Association committed a great deal of resources to developing our certification program. We did not just rely on the experience of our certification board professionals to determine the criteria and content of the examinations. We went out into the field and did in-depth surveys of compliance professionals to determine what they were actually doing and what they needed to know. We then selected a testing agency with a great deal of professionalism and experience, which could also offer testing sites across the country, for those who did not want to attend an Academy or one of our conferences where testing is offered.
If you are looking at other certifications, you would want to ask questions such as:
- How long has the program been in existence?
Does the body seem to exist just to sell products and services?
Who is on the board of directors of the entity and who is on the certification board or governing body?
